Peter Luger Steak House is a New York City Institution, the third oldest operating steak house, established in 1887 and located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Going to Lugers for their world famous Porterhouse steak, meant you were either celebrating a life accomplishment, or trying to be schmoozed/bribed over a potential business deal. This is a CASH ONLY establishment (besides their own Luger credit card) and reservations are few and far between, but frequent patrons know if you give the “golden handshake” to the right guy, a table ironically opens up. For the working class crowd we know the real deal is the $20 Luger Burger and Beer Lunch special, with a huge side of bacon (extra).
